Placement in one gesture
No forms, no location codes to type — drag, hover, drop.
Grab an item and drop it where it lives. Hold it over an aisle and the aisle springs open so you can drop it onto an exact floor.
Bin location tracking records the specific place an item is stored — a bin, shelf, floor or slot — rather than just the building. It is the difference between "somewhere in the warehouse" and an address a person can walk to.
The usual objection is that maintaining locations is tedious data entry. That is a UI problem, not a concept problem: here you drag an item onto the map and it is done. Hover over an aisle for a moment and it springs open to reveal its floors, the same way a folder opens when you drag a file onto it.
No forms, no location codes to type — drag, hover, drop.
Select many unplaced items and send them all to one shelf and floor at once.
Hovering opens the aisle so you can target the exact floor without a second step.
Anything unplaced sits in a tray you can see and clear, so nothing silently vanishes.
Say "move all soccer balls to Warehouse B shelf 6" and approve the proposed change.
Dropped it on the wrong shelf? One undo puts it back exactly where it was.
A location field nobody updates is worse than no location at all. Drag-and-drop keeps the map true because keeping it true takes one second.
Every item without a home is listed on the right of the warehouse view.
Hold over the aisle until it springs open, then drop onto the floor you want.
Place all units or just some — the remainder stays as loose stock you can place later.
Make updating cheaper than not updating. Dragging an item to a shelf takes about a second, and moves can also be done by voice or by the AI Assistant in bulk. The other half is culture: if scanning shows the wrong shelf, fixing it should be a two-second drag rather than a support ticket.
Yes. Multi-select in the unassigned tray and assign the whole batch to one shelf and floor, or ask the AI Assistant to move everything matching a description — it proposes the exact list of moves and you approve them in one click.
Items travel with their aisle. Move, rotate or resize an aisle and everything on it stays on it, so a seasonal re-layout does not orphan your locations.
Placement is designed for a larger screen where you can see the whole map — a tablet works well, a phone is cramped. On phones the native apps focus on what phones are good at: scanning items in and out, and looking up where something lives.
