You hold the gate
Nothing scans against your inventory until you have personally approved that device.
Team members request access from their own device; you approve or refuse it. No shared logins, no mystery scanners, no access that outlives an employee.

The usual small-business pattern is a shared tablet with a shared login. It works right up until you need to know who changed a count, or until someone leaves and you realise their phone still has the password.
Here, each device announces itself and waits. You see who is asking, from what device, at which IP, and you decide. The rule that members cannot approve themselves is enforced in the database, not just hidden in the interface — so it holds on the web, on iPhone and on Android alike.
Nothing scans against your inventory until you have personally approved that device.
Device name, requesting user, IP address and browser are all shown in the request.
A member with scanner rights can request, cancel and use — never promote themselves to active.
On native apps, each Bluetooth barcode gun registers separately under its host device.
Delete the registration and that device stops scanning immediately.
New registration requests ring the bell so nothing sits waiting unnoticed.
A shared password tells you a scan happened. An approved device tells you whose hands were on it.
They open the Scanners page on their device and tap Request access at a station.
The request appears with device, user, IP and time — approve or ignore it.
Revoke any device later; approvals at other stations are unaffected.
Two switches: remove their team membership, and delete their device registrations. Both take effect immediately because permissions and registrations are checked on every request rather than cached in the app. Their copy of the mobile app will simply stop being able to read or write your data.
No. They can create a pending request and cancel it, but promoting a registration to active is owner-only and enforced by database rules — so it cannot be bypassed by a modified app or a crafted request.
It is a handful of taps, once per device, usually during onboarding. Most businesses do it a few times a year. If someone forgets to request access before a shift, you can approve from your phone in about ten seconds.
