Voice controlled inventory management with AI commands

What is voice-controlled inventory?

Voice control lets you tell the system what happened instead of navigating to a screen and typing it. In a warehouse that matters, because the moment you know something moved is usually the moment both your hands are holding it.

Our approach is deliberately conservative: the AI interprets your sentence, then shows you the exact operations it plans — which items, which quantities, which shelf — and nothing is written until you approve. You get the speed of speech without trusting a microphone with your stock levels.

What you get

Talk, do not type

Describe the move in a normal sentence; the AI resolves item names, even plurals and partial matches.

Approve before it happens

Every voice command becomes a visible list of proposed edits you confirm.

Understands your catalogue

"Blue cups" finds "Blue Coffee Cups" without an exact match.

Bulk moves in one breath

One sentence can move many items between warehouses and shelves at once.

Permissions still apply

Voice never exceeds what the speaker is allowed to do — rules are enforced server-side.

Editable transcript

Misheard a word? Fix the text before sending rather than starting over.

Speed without surrendering control

The AI proposes; you approve. That single design choice is what makes voice safe to use on real inventory.

How it works

1

Tap the microphone

Open the AI Assistant and start speaking — your words appear as editable text.

2

Review the plan

The assistant lists each proposed change in plain English with items and quantities.

3

Approve

Confirm and the changes are applied and logged, or edit the sentence and try again.

Frequently asked questions

Does voice inventory control actually work in a noisy warehouse?

It works about as well as voice dictation does anywhere — well in a stockroom, less well beside a running forklift. Because the transcript is editable and every action requires approval, background noise costs you a correction rather than a wrong stock level. Many people use it in quieter areas and fall back to scanning on the floor.

What kinds of commands can it understand?

Moves ("put the small boxes on shelf 3"), quantity changes ("sold 3 basketballs", "set gloves to 15"), receiving ("received 24 water bottles"), removing items from the map, and drafting purchase orders ("order 60 more coffee cups"). It handles plurals, partial names and descriptive phrases rather than requiring exact titles.

Is my voice recorded or stored?

Speech is transcribed by your browser or device and only the resulting text is sent for interpretation. We do not store audio recordings of your commands.

Can staff use voice commands too?

Yes, if you grant them the AI permission — and their commands are still bound by their other permissions. A team member who can only scan can adjust quantities by voice but cannot move stock or change prices, because the rules are enforced in the database rather than the interface.
